The best season to trek in the Langtang region is October to May.

Makalu Base Camp:

Makalu Base Camp is 2 to 3 weeks trekking from Hile up the Arun Valley. You can reach Hile from Kathmandu on a bus in about 17 hours. You need to pay rupees 1000 (US dollar 15) as the entry fee to the Makalu Barun National Park. You need to arrange for food and accommodation for this route.

Annapurna Circuit Trek:

Annapurna Circuit Trek starts from Besisahar in Lamjung. There are direct bus from Kathmandu (6 hours), Narayanghat and Pokhara (five hours). It takes around 16 to 18 days to complete the trekking in this route. October to November is the best season for Annapurna trek. There are tea houses along the route for food and accommodation. But during the peak season they are generally overcrowded. You need to pay rupees 2,000 (around US dollar 30) as the entry fee to the Annapurna Conservation Area.
